Member of EU Parliament muses on Prolearn results
Peter Scott

Peter Scott demonstrated a number of KMi's technologies and innovations to Christopher Beazley, Member of the European Parliament for the UK's Eastern region.

Christopher was elected MEP for the Eastern region in 1999. He was MEP for Cornwall and Plymouth from 1984-94. He was Conservative spokesman on Culture and Education. He was Conservative spokesman on Constitutional Affairs from 1999-2001, and was Vice-Chairman of the European Parliament's Delegation to the Baltic States from 1991-94, and Chairman of the EP Delegation to Estonia from 2001-2004. He is a member of the Culture & Education Committee. He is a former Deputy Whip of the Conservatives in the European Parliament.

He came to KMi to see some of the cutting edge technologies and innovations that KMi are researching. In general, the debate and discussion centred on the interchange between policy makers and innovators - trying to make the future happen in the best way possible for Europe. He met with a range of significant Open University representatives and was also very interested in the OpenLearn initiative which opens a range of OU courses to the world.
